What is Blue LED light acne treatment?
Blue light can reduce some types of acne especially red and inflamed pimples. Many cases of common acne are caused by a bacterium called C. acnes, which lives in your skin. And C. acnes just so happens to emit an inflammatory biproduct called porphyrin. Acne light treatments use light in the blue wavelength range of 405-420 nm to kill and reduce C. acnes bacteria under the surface of the skin. It may take several sessions to find out if your acne is sensitive to blue light. If it is, you might still need to use other acne treatments, like a chemical exfoliation and skin care products to get acne under control. But for some people, blue light treatments can light the way to clearer skin. NASA was part of the development for the use of Light Therapy!
